Q: How do I begin?
A: You may begin your role playing in any of the boards in 'The Last Frontier'. I would advise you to join an open thread if you’re new to the game. Also being in an active thread would mean you won’t have to wait for others to chance upon your own thread. Remember that whatever you do in the game should follow a certain plot. Read through the active thread thoroughly before posting so as to avoid confusion with multiple plots.
Q: How are battles held?
A: If you’ve been to other role-playing sites you may notice that some of them rely on dice and numbers to deal attacks on an opponent. However in this game, we rather not rely on these things and rely on the player’s own intuition. Remember, a fair fight will keep your fellow role players happy and the story going. One in which you defeat everyone with the most ‘God-like’ attacks would be extremely boring and unpleasing to other players and people who reads the thread. Apart from that though, be creative, surprise your opponent with attacks that they wouldn’t have guessed! Keep it wild and exciting!
Q: How are battles won?
A: Battles can be really fun, but how does it all end? Well – a player basically wins a battle when the opponent admits defeat or have no other way to counterattack. What must be remembered is that it is not up to the attacking player to decide whether the opponent is defeated or not but the defender’s decision.
Q: I’m bored of the thread I’m in, how do I leave?
A: You simply have to add the word CLOSE encased in brackets as your subject title. That would signal to the other players that you have left the thread and you have left the area of play as well so they wouldn’t be able to contact your player until you re-enter the thread. Do be courteous and warn the other players early that your character will be leaving by putting in suggestions in your posts that your character has got something else to attend to far, far away.
Q: Can I create sub-characters?
A: Yes you can, sub-characters can sometimes be very important in a story. However do remember that you cannot leave your main character behind and create posts in your sub-character’s shoes! Sub-characters can in fact carry weapons however they cannot be used to attack or injure main characters.
Q: In what era is this game set?
A: The game is set in present time; however the events occurring in this alternate universe of our own has changed the world so much that nothing is recognizable. The world as we know it had long been turned to ruins. Technology has advanced no further as it has now however, with the discovery of genetic mutations, humans were able to create items known as crystals and cards that can greatly enhance the user's powers. Along with machines of the new and artifacts of old, the world is thrown into a never ending battle.
